Defendants Ronald and Patricia Cearley appeal from a judgment awarding compensatory and punitive damages to plaintiffs Sonia Azizian and Celedonio Rabello, Jr., plus costs and attorney fees. We reverse the judgment in its entirety, and remand the matter for a new trial on both liability and damages.
Background
Ron Cearley has been in the motorcycle business for 30 years. He was a licensed dealer for 15 of those years. In 1998, he moved his business into a building in Hayward, California, where he operated as â€
