            Callender appeals thedismissal of his police brutality lawsuit for failure to prosecute.  Weaffirm.

Background

            On June 6, 2000, two Oakland policeofficers allegedly assaulted Winston Callender without justification.  A policereport of the incident identified one of the officers as Officer Brandwood.  On June 6, 2001, Callender filed a policebrutality complaint against the City of Oakland and ten Doe defendants. The complaint alleged that Officers Adamson and â€
