1. Introduction
Mother appeals from an order terminating her parental rights. (Welf. & Inst. Code, § 366.26.)[1] She contends the court erred by appointing a guardian ad litem (guardian) for her, violating In re Sara D. (2001) 87 Cal.App.4th 661 and In re C.G. (2005) 129 Cal.App.4th 27. We reject mother's challenge because any error was harmless beyond a reasonable doubt.
2. Factual and Procedural Background
Two children are the subject of this appeal. Jessica H. was born in August 2003. Ariel H. was born in June 2004.
The original dependency petition, which was filed in February 2004 and concerned Jessica only, alleged parents' failure to protect due to mental illness and substance abuse. (§ 300, subd. (b).) Mother had been the victim of domestic violence by father, Ryan H. In the hospital emergency room, mother behaved bizarrely, creating a disturbance and refusing to cooperate.
