     Maria M. (appellant), the mother of D.T. (the minor), appeals from an order of the juvenile court terminating the parental rights of appellant.  (Welf. & Inst. Code, §§ 366.26, 395; further undesignated statutory references are to this code.)  Appellant contends the juvenile court abused its discretion both by denying her petition for modification (§ 388) and by failing to apply the exception to adoption contained in section 366.26, subdivision (c)(1)(A).  Disagreeing with each of these contentions, we affirm.


FACTUAL AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND


     On July 24, 2003, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) filed an amended juvenile dependency petition pursuant to section 300 on behalf of the one-year-old minor.  That petition alleged appellant had been the victim of domestic violence in the presence of the minor and two siblings of the minor had been sexually molested.  The juvenile court sustained the petition, adjudged the minor a dependent child, placed the minor in appellant's home under DHHS supervision, and ordered DHHS to provide services to appellant.


     According to a May 2004 social worker's report, the minor appeared to have a positive relationship with appellant.  DHHS also reported that it appeared the minor was attached to appellant and â€
