Tiffany S. (Mother) is the mother of four children: 7-year-old Jonathon S.; 5-year-old J.S.; 4-year-old P.D.; and 1-year-old J.D. Mother appeals from an order terminating her parental rights. (Welf. & Inst. Code, § 366.26.)[1] She contends the juvenile court violated her due process rights by appointing a guardian ad litem (guardian) for her and that there was insufficient evidence to support the court's order in appointing the guardian. We reject Mother's contentions and affirm the judgment.

FACTUAL AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND


The family came to the attention of the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) on September 3, 2002, when DPSS received an immediate response referral to the Riverside County Regional Medical Center to investigate the family. On that date, Mother and her three children (then 4-year-old Jonathon, 1-year-old J.S., and 7-month-old P.D.) were dropped off at the hospital emergency room by a friend. Mother appeared to be drunk and suffering emotional problems. The friend reported that she had picked Mother up from a psychiatric facility two days earlier, that she and her husband could no longer help Mother and her children, and that Mother had threatened to strangle her and her husband.
