Defendant and appellant, Luis Lorenzo Armentero, appeals from the judgment entered following his conviction, by jury trial, for selling a controlled substance, with prior drug conviction, prior serious felony conviction and prior prison term findings (Health & Saf. Code, §§ 11352, 11370.2; Pen. Code, §§ 667, subd. (b)-(i), 667.5).[1] Sentenced to state prison for 12 years, Armentero claims there was trial error.


The judgment is affirmed.


BACKGROUND


Viewed in accordance with the usual rule of appellate review (People v. Ochoa (1993) 6 Cal.4th 1199, 1206, the evidence established the following.


On March 25, 2005,[2] Pomona Police Corporal Edil Vasquez was working undercover conducting a buy-bust operation against illegal drug trafficking. Vasquez drove to a liquor store on Indian Hill Boulevard and parked his truck. A group of seven or eight men, including defendant Armentero, were standing in front of the liquor store.


Vasquez sat in his truck for a while, listening to the radio. He made eye contact with Armentero and gave him a nod. Armentero walked over to the truck. Vasquez testified he asked Armentero â€
