INTRODUCTION


Latasha Ann Brown (Brown) was convicted of kidnapping an infant and murdering the child's mother. On appeal, she claims that her rights under Miranda v. Arizona[1] were violated, her statements to police were coerced, and the court erred in imposing consecutive sentences. We affirm.


II.


PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND


Brown was charged by information with the murder of Daphne Boyden[2] (Daphne) and kidnapping Daphne's son, a child under the age of 14 years. (Pen. Code[3], § 187, subd. (a), 208, subd. (b).) The information also alleged that Brown personally used a firearm in the commission of these offenses. (§ 12022.5, subd. (a)(1).)


Following a jury trial, the jury found Brown guilty of first degree murder and kidnapping a child. The jury found true the personal firearm use allegation as to each count. The trial court sentenced Brown to a total indeterminate term of 37 years to life: 25 years to life for the murder, 8 years for the kidnapping, plus 4 years for the firearm use enhancement, all to run consecutively. This timely appeal followed.

FACTUAL BACKGROUND


In early 1996, Brown, then 15 years old, lived with her mother, Delores Brown (Delores) in Vallejo. Brown told her mother that she was pregnant and that the baby was due in May or June. Her mother took her to one prenatal visit at Kaiser in Vallejo. Brown â€
