Defendant Darryl Keith Bryant was charged by information with 19 criminal offenses arising out of various incidents occurring from April 2, 2004, to June 11, 2004, involving his girlfriend, Mahaila G. A jury convicted him of corporal injury on a cohabitant (Pen. Code, § 273.5, subd. (a) -- count fifteen),[1] hung on a charge of filing a false police report (§ 148.5, subd.
