IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT

DIVISION SIX

THE PEOPLE,

Plaintiff and Respondent,

v.

JUAN MANUEL CASILLAS,

Defendant and Appellant.

2d Crim. No. B190272

(Super. Ct. No. YA063512-01)

(Los Angeles County)

Juan Manuel Casillas pled no contest to possessing marijuana for sale and admitted a prior serious felony conviction under the Three Strikes law. (Health & Saf. Code, § 11359; Pen. Code, § 1170.12, subd. (c)(1).) He was sentenced to six years in prison as specified in his plea agreement.

We appointed counsel to represent Casillas in this appeal. After reviewing the record, counsel filed an opening brief raising no issues and requesting this court to independently review the record pursuant to People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436. We advised Casillas that he had 30 days in which to submit a written brief or letter stating any contentions or arguments he wished us to consider. Casillas filed a brief attaching portions of the record on appeal and requesting that counsel be appointed to assist him. We have examined the record and are satisfied that Casillas's appointed appellate counsel has fully complied with his responsibilities and that no arguable issues exist. (People v. Wende, supra, 25 Cal.3d at p. 441.) We deny Casillas's request for counsel as counsel on appeal has already been provided.

The judgment is affirmed.

NOT TO BE PUBLISHED.
