1. Introduction[1]
Defendant and Christopher Tolliver, assisted by two women, ambushed and robbed two men in a motel parking lot. A jury convicted defendant of two counts of robbery, two counts of false imprisonment, and two counts of assault with a firearm. (§§ 36, 211, and 245.) The jury found true the weapon and firearm enhancements. (§ 12022, subds. (a)(1) and (b)(1).) The court sentenced defendant to a prison term of nine years four months.
Defendant argues the trial court committed various evidentiary, instructional, and sentencing errors and that defendant received ineffective assistance of counsel. We reject his contentions and affirm the judgment.
2. Facts
At trial, Randy Kelley testified as follows: Kelley, Chris Dye, and Oliver Phillips, all in the Navy, were playing pool at a Victorville bar when they were approached by two women, Shanett Clark and Rebekah Dawson. The women behaved flirtatiously and the men agreed to give them a ride to the Green Tree Inn. During the car ride, Clark made a cell phone call to someone and reported they were traveling in a Montero.
