IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT

DIVISION SIX

THE PEOPLE,

Plaintiff and Respondent,

v.

JASON DANIEL NEWBURY,

Defendant and Appellant.

2d Crim. No. B187345

(Super. Ct. No. 2004034071)

(Ventura County)

Jason Daniel Newbury appeals from a 17-year prison sentence imposed after pleading guilty to robbery (Pen. Code, § 211); personal use of a firearm to commit the robbery (id., §§ 12022.5, subd. (a), 12022.53, subd. (b)); felony evading (Veh. Code, § 2800.2, subd. (a)); and possessing methamphetamine (Health & Saf. Code, § 11377, subd. (a)). A 2003 conviction for burglary was alleged as a prior strike and a prior serious felony conviction. (Pen. Code, § 667, subds. (a), (c) & (e).)

We appointed counsel to represent Newbury in this appeal. After reviewing the record, counsel filed an opening brief raising no issues and requesting that this court independently examine the record pursuant to People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436.

On April 14, 2006, we advised Newbury that he had 30 days in which to submit a written brief or letter stating any contentions or arguments he wished us to consider. We received a response from Newbury on May 11, 2006, asking that his sentence be reduced or that he be given probation.

We have reviewed the entire record and are satisfied that Newbury's attorney has fully complied with his responsibilities and that no arguable issues exist. (People v. Wende, supra, 25 Cal.3d at p. 441.)

The judgment is affirmed.

NOT TO BE PUBLISHED.

PERREN, J.
