Following a jury trial, James Walter Williams (appellant) was convicted of second degree robbery (Pen. Code, § 211) and possession of cocaine base (Health & Saf. Code, § 11350, subd. (a)). The trial court sentenced appellant to the aggravated term of five years for the robbery conviction and a concurrent two-year term for the possession conviction.


On appeal, appellant contends the trial court erred in allowing the prosecutor to cross-examine him beyond the scope of his direct examination and on irrelevant â€
