A decision wherein use of cigarettes accidentally started a fire that burned a storage room, defendant entered a negotiated plea of no contest to unlawfully causing a fire to an inhabited structure. Court ordered defendant to register as an arson offender pursuant to Penal Code section 457.1 as a condition of probation.On appeal, however, defendant challenges the registration requirement as unauthorized by statute and the Attorney General concedes the error. Court agree.

Appellant was declared a ward of the court pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 602 after admitting to assault with a deadly weapon and the personal use of a firearm. Appellant contends the juvenile court abused its discretion in committing him to the CYA. Court affirm the judgment.

A decision regarding juvenile court's orders insofar as to supervised visitation. Court remand the matter to the juvenile court with directions to vacate the orders insofar as they require supervised visitation and enter new orders providing that visitation is to be unsupervised.

A person was over 70 years old and disabled with some speech and neurological impairments. He lived alone in a small cabin on Mount Baldy. They reported a burglary and a fire at the cabin and collected insurance proceeds.A jury convicted defendant on a total of 26 counts for murdering, committing arson and other related crimes with enhancements.

Appellant sexually abused his stepdaughter, who was six when the abuse began and 12 when defendant impregnated her. A jury convicted defendant of one count of continuous sexual abuse and three counts of lewd acts upon a child. The jury also found that, during the commission of one of the lewd acts, defendant personally inflicted great bodily injury.

Mother appeals from the juvenile dependency court's order entered at a review hearing. Mother contends court must reverse the court's custody order awarding physical custody to father because the Department of Public Social Services did not comply with the notice provisions of the Indian Child Welfare Act. Court conclude the ICWA notice provisions do not apply.
