The parents contend that the juvenile court erred in terminating their parental rights; they argue that the court erred in failing to find that they had such a beneficial relationship with the children that it would be detrimental to terminate their parental rights. Father raises the additional contention that he did not receive proper notice of the selection and implementation hearing, at which his parental rights were terminated. Court affirm the decision.

Without raising any issues on appeal, Armando M. asks this court to conduct an independent review of the record pursuant to People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436. In February 2004, 16-year-old appellant and several adult men were involved in a sexual assault against a 17-year-old female. Following a contested jurisdictional hearing, the juvenile court found Armando committed rape in concert and placed appellant in the California Youth Authority (CYA) for a maximum period of confinement of nine years.
