Appellant filed a petition for writ of mandate, seeking reemployment in an administrative position. The trial court denied the petition. Appellant then filed another petition for writ of mandate and received a separate case number. The court considered the second petition to be the same in all material respects to the first petition and thus denied it on the basis of res judicata. The question on appeal is whether the trial court properly denied the second petition.

The probate court appointed a guardian ad litem to represent an incapacitated trustor in pending litigation. The guardian was appointed to represent the trustor in two separate lawsuits and in an accounting of the trust. A beneficiary of the trust maintained that the court had no authority to appoint a guardian for more than the single lawsuit pending in the probate court.

A juvenile delinquency petition alleged that a minor committed an assault with a deadly weapon and by means likely to produce great bodily injury. After a trial the juvenile court sustained the petition as charged, declared minor a delinquent ward and placed him on probation for a period not to exceed four years.

A decision as to computer-related theft charges. On appeal, he contends the trial court erred by failing to refer him for an evaluation to determine if he should be confined to the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code section 3051.
Court agree that the court should have stated its reason for refusing defendant's request to initiate commitment proceedings.
