Defendant and appellant Kirk R. Thomas received a probationary sentence after being convicted by plea on March 5, 2004, of inflicting a corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition upon a cohabitant in violation of Penal Code section 273.5, subdivision (a), along with an admission defendant inflicted great bodily injury in the commission of the offense within the meaning of Penal Code section 12022.7. On May 6, 2004, defendant admitted to violating probation and was sentenced to state prison for a total of six years.
