Azim Shariat was arrested under an Orange County ordinance governing amplified sound systems within county parks. Shariat, a minister with the Persian Church Love Assembly, was attending the annual Persian New Year gathering at Mason Park in Irvine,[1] where he was playing, under a canopy and table, Christian music (in Farsi) on a sound system with detached speakers connected to a portable generator. A sheriff's department report described the speakers as â€
