Defendant Reyes LeGrande, Jr., received 16 years and eight months in state prison for drug, firearm, and assault charges originally charged in three informations but consolidated for trial into one. On appeal, defendant claims the offenses were improperly joined, the prosecutor engaged in misconduct, defense counsel was incompetent, the court erred in denying defendant's motion to suppress a search warrant, and the evidence was insufficient.
FACTS

On October 23, 2000, at 8:10 p.m., San Jose police officers responded to the home of Timothy Leach in response to a report of shots fired and a small vehicle leaving the scene at high speed.
