            APPEAL from the Superior Court of San Bernardino County.  David Cohn, Judge.  Affirmed.


            Nicole Williams, under appointment by the Court of Appeal, for Defendant and Appellant.


            No appearance for Plaintiff and Respondent.


I.  INTRODUCTION


            Tara R. (mother) appeals from the termination of her parental rights as to Alyssa L. under Welfare and Institutions Code[1] section 366.26.  We find no error, and we affirm.


II.  FACTS AND PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND


            In November 2004, the San Bernardino County Department of Children's Services (Department) filed a petition under section 300, subdivisions (b) and (g), alleging that Alyssa, born in August 2003, was at risk due to mother's and father's[2] substance abuse and father's incarceration.


The detention report stated that police had found that Alyssa had been left with four other children, the oldest of whom was only seven, while mother and the mother of the other children had gone out.  One of the children stated a neighbor checked on them periodically.  The responding social worker noted that the home was â€
