P. v. Morgan
In 1984 Loren Morgan pleaded guilty to second degree murder (Pen. Code, 187).[1] The court sentenced him to 15 years to life in prison. He did not appeal, but over the years filed several unsuccessful habeas corpus petitions. In 2002 he filed a petition for writ of coram nobis. The trial court denied the petition and in 2004 this court dismissed Morgan's appeal from the denial order. In 2008 Morgan filed another petition for writ of coram nobis. It challenged the trial court's denial of the 2002 petition, arguing it was erroneously based on the one-year statute of limitations in 28 United States Code, section 2244(d). The trial court denied the 2008 petition. Morgan appeals. Court affirm.
