Cisneros v. Castillo
After defendant and appellant Jose M. Castillo stabbed plaintiff and respondent Matthew L. Cisneros, respondent won a judgment for personal injuries at a bench trial. Appellant appeals from the judgment. He does not address liability, but raises issues only with respect to causation and damages award. Appellant contends that the trial court erred in taking judicial notice of a Social Security Award. Appellant also argues respondent failed to introduce requisite testimony of a medical expert stating there was a reasonable medical probability that appellant caused respondents continuing injuries. Court reverse and remand to the trial court for a trial solely on the issue of damages.
