Based on his assault of his estranged wife in her home, a jury convicted Ernesto Luis Escamilla of residential burglary (Pen. Code, §§ 459, 460, subd. (a); all further statutory references are to this code unless noted), domestic violence battery causing injury with a prior conviction for battery or assault (§ 273.5, subds. (a), (f)(1)), kidnapping (§ 207, subd. (a)), criminal threats (§ 422, subd. (a)), false imprisonment by violence (§§ 236, 237, subd. (a)), and violation of a protective order with a prior conviction (§ 166, subd. (c)(4)). In bifurcated proceedings, the trial court found enhancement allegations true concerning a prior serious felony conviction (§§ 667, subd. (a)(1)); 1192.7, subd. (c)(1), a prior serious and violent felony (§§ 667, subd. (d), (e)(1); § 1170.12, subd. (b), (c)(1)), and five prison priors (§ 667.5, subd. (b)).
