A jury found defendant Kouei Saetern guilty of three counts of murder with special circumstances. On appeal, defendant contends: (1) the trial court prejudicially erred in admitting evidence of an uncharged attempted murder; (2) trial counsel rendered ineffective assistance of counsel by failing to object to prosecutorial misconduct in closing argument; (3) defendant was improperly convicted of more than one multiple-murder special circumstance; (4) the restitution award is not based on substantial evidence; (5) the restitution fine should be reduced to $200; (6) defendant’s parole revocation fine should be stricken; and (7) the matter should be remanded to allow the trial court to consider striking the firearm enhancement pursuant to the newly enacted Senate Bill No. 620 (2017-2018 Reg.
